Russian Communists To Obama:Don’t Let Them Down!

Russian Communists issued their comments in reaction to recent elections. I didn’t want this important statement to go unnoticed so I translated it for the President-Elect.

Disclaimer: This is the literal translation of the text to the best of my ability. I did not make any modifications to the text of the statement and tried my best to convey all the nuance usually lost in translation.

Secretary of the Volkhov Regional Committee of the Communist Party Katerina Petrova, expressing the position of the Party, commented on the victory in the US presidential elections of the candidate from the liberal wing of the Democratic Party Barack Obama.

Bloody and thievish Bush administration is finally coming to an end. McCain’s rabid russophobic and anti-Soviet views were rejected by the American People. We, the communists, think that McCain should react to the loss as an officer and shoot himself, or he will lose all the remaining respect. Although many leftist forces in the USA, including (on our request) the Communist Party of the USA supported Obama, we understand that Barack is still controlled by the Pentagon and the Wall Street. Comrade Zyuganov correctly points out that patented russophobes such as Brzezinski and maniacal Albright are crawling around Obama. That is why Russia cannot relax and should be ready for the continuation of the cold war. However, there is still a chance that Barack Obama will conduct realistic policy and will involve new people in his administration. Communist and Socialist Parties in the United States and negro* organizations need to demand that Obama  includes their representatives in the governmental structures! Maybe Obama will be smart enough to extend the welcoming hand to Venezuela, Cuba, Syria, Korea, Zimbabwe and Palestine.

We are warning the American progressive forces that if Obama conducts reasonable policy, rejects Bush’s aggression and intervention, CIA will try to kill the new president. In this case American left forces should try to hide him in some kind of “uncle Tom’s cabin”. However, if Obama yields to the pressure from the bankers and reactionary military, all the workers who financed his campaign should demand their money back.

We can see that the little Negro’s* victory brought hope and enthusiasm to one-story high America, that Americans rejoice on the streets of of their cities and villages; simple workers, tired of the war in Iraq, power of the monopolies, hawks in the White House; we cannot watch without excitement the black population of America – they are thirsty for change. So don’t let them down, Barack Obama! Don’t leave these people to their fate! Do not betray your predecessors – Lincoln, Roosevelt, Martin Luther King! Or you will not be worth a penny!

*Russians are still working on their use of the term “African-American”.
